The founder has spent two decades doing what most software founders haven't: actually running businesses. A General Manager with full P&L ownership scaling a multimillion-dollar operation, a founding CEO who built a company from zero through COVID with employees on the line, and a technology executive accountable to a board for global certification delivery and enterprise budget commitments.
That distinction matters. PulseCargo is a freight technology platform built by someone who knows what it's like to sign the front of a payroll check, defend a Fortune 500 account renegotiation, hire and fire, weather a pandemic with zero capital shortfall, and operate a business across multiple continents under SLA.
Doesn't just understand the technology. Understands the business model that has to pay for it.
Customer-facing freight visibility — over a decade before Amazon made it standard.
Long before consumer e-commerce normalized "your package was picked up / your package was delivered" notifications, the founder designed and personally programmed a customer-facing portal that did exactly that — for freight, end-to-end. Pickup drivers uploaded dock photos at the loading bay. Delivery drivers uploaded proof at the consignee. The system automatically notified the customer the moment each event landed.
Customers could elect which notifications they wanted (pickup-only, delivery-only, both, exception-only), and view the photos and milestones from any device — desktop, smartphone, or tablet — through links lightweight enough to clear corporate email size limits, on bandwidth that wasn't ready for image attachments.
Trade-show shippers depended on it. So did high-value-cargo customers where pickup-content validation was mission-critical. The pattern Amazon later made standard for parcels — PulseCargo's founder shipped for freight years earlier, working with the tools of that era.
Career background
Two decades operating across transportation, logistics, technology, and manufacturing. Roles have included:
- General Manager & CIO at a transportation and asset management business — scaled the business 3x in annual revenue, negotiated major multiyear contracts, led customer relationships with Fortune 500 accounts, and ran technology architecture organization-wide.
- Founder & CEO of a QSR franchise built from inception — full P&L responsibility, recruited and hired the full team, operated through the COVID-19 pandemic with zero capital shortfall.
- VP of Technology at an international logistics provider — directs global operations across multiple functional areas spanning US, Asia, and Europe.
- Director of Information Systems at a freight marketplace and logistics platform — drove significant cost reductions across the technology stack and steered the organization through cyber attack response.
- Earlier (15–20 years ago): Built customer-facing portals end-to-end — designed and programmed personally — plugged into major ERPs and proprietary TMS. EDI integrations to carrier and customer systems. Inventory management tuned to specific customer programs. - Earlier IT leadership roles at a manufacturing firm and a healthcare services firm, and technical support leadership at a global networking equipment company.
